Help Is Coming

First off let me start by saying how excited I am for all the progress that has been made! I named today’s post “Help Is Coming” because I can feel how close I am getting to be able to travel to Haiti and help out Emily and Montanna.

I have to say that during this project of fundraising and especially during putting this Charity Dinner together I have found connections I never knew I had. A big shout out I need to give is to Julia Monk who is such a phenomenal best friend and has been there for me every step that I’ve needed her.

In other news I have designed a poster for the Dinner! I’m planning on getting them out ASAP to get more publicity, I also want to mention “Eyes On Windsor” thank you for your interest in helping me out.

My hopes are that I can fill the room (150 people) and then have to request a bigger room before the event, so everyone get out there and sell some tickets, tell friends, family, and even strangers!

Another quick shout out I have yet to post how I have been feeling about any struggles that I face putting all this together and successes, once I get to Haiti I promise to be thorough and “Deep”  with emotion for every one :); I digress. I want to thank Lauren Cropper, I’ve been following her blog and she has such motivational and reassuring/reminding blog posts. I recently purchased her book “Self-Worth: The tie that binds” The book is fantastic, keeps me going stronger than before and has definitely taught me some things I have needed and may need during my journey to Haiti and while I’m there. THANKS LAUREN! check out her blog www.BetweenFearandLove.com

For todays quote I’m going to be para-phrasing from Lauren’s book.

“…I noticed there tended to be a lot of confusion over different definitions of personal constructs, particularly self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth… it makes sense that there would be authors who used them interchangeably. However, I believe the three are uniquely different, and distinguishing between them is important.”

~Lauren Cropper; Self-Worth:the tie that binds

I find this passage in her book one of the most important. If you can figure out the difference between them all and the role they play in your life you can learn to be a better person, not just for other people but for yourself.

“Open your mind to the world; learn how to change YOURSELF and you can change the world”

~Justin Parkinson
